The shipyard was founded in 1965 by Dimitris Basimakopoulos. The original area less than 2.000 m2 of which 80 m2 workshop and 120 m2 indoor space. The equipment was minimal.

In this area were constructed more than 350 wooden boats of all types, many of which still sail over seas. With much love and handiwork, Dimitris Basimakopoulos and colleagues were turning their raw material (wood of any kind), to real jewels.

The end of 1994 marks a new era for the Shipyard. The management goes to John, son of Dimitri, who along with his uncle Lefteris make plans for the future. In this phase the Shipyard had reached an area of 10.000 sq.m. The two young people, with bold ideas, quickly put into effect their plan to bring sweeping changes to the company. Simultaneously with the construction of wooden vessels both partners prepare for what will follow. In early 2002 the project started. The seashore below Shipyard suitably shaped and craft approaching quickly and safely. The new Travelift with lifting capacity of 100 tons has been assembled and is ready to act. From now on the main activities are the hauls / launches, parking and repair of vessels. The changes do not stop here. Under the investment plan, the company in 2005 expanded by buying adjacent land area of 10.000 m2 and a trailer to transport and storage vessels of 60 tons. At the end of 2008 a trailer capacity of 120 tons added to the company's fleet. Finally, the company added to the extent of ground other 2.000 m2, reaching a total of 26.000 m2. Nowadays the site is structured to be able to receive and safely accommodate more than 350 vessels of all types.

In the safe parking of boats contribute specially patented metal support grids manufactured and used exclusively for the yard. Flat surfaces, water supplies and electricity every 30m, modern clean toilets and showers with hot water are some of the elements that make the stay of our customers easier and more comfortable.

Particular attention is given to the security with 3m fence to surround the entire plot, pillars with lights to illuminate the area at night, dog guards and security service during the winter months.

The investment program does not stop. The immediate plans of the company is all shipyard surfaces to be paved and install monitoring supervision (CCTV). Actions that will change the look of the site and will add points to the functionality and safety.
